You can create and send a complimentary e-gift card to a customer without having to enter a payment

If you have ever wanted to send a promotional, free e-gift card to a customer, now it is possible to do this and you do not have to enter a credit card payment to do so. Whether a complimentary thank you gift or promotional card that you want to send to customers, now you can create this e-gift card in the backend and send it to the customer, without having to enter or swipe a credit card for the payment.

A use-case scenario for this is to issue an e-gift card that is the value of a reservation in advance. For example, you charge $100 per ticket for an advance reservation of a special outdoor experience, but the event is free, assuming the customer is going to order wine and food while on site. You can create the egift card for the value charged, and then it can be applied at checkout either on Revel POS or Vines POS. If the customer does not use the full value of it on the day of the event, the balance can be applied to a future in person or online purchase.

So it's a clever way to sell more, upfront, and keep your customers coming back for more.

To setup:

  1. Send email to support@vinesos.com or use the chat and ask us to enable the Free Gift Card option on your account. This request must come from the account owner, for security purposes.

  2. After it is enabled, go to Gift Card Dashboard and you will see a blue 'Add' button, to add a free e-gift card.

3. Enter the free gift card details

4. The recipient does not automatically get an email with this information. It is for your identification only. You will see the new gift card in the dashboard, along with open balance.
