Set up Locations

Multiple permanent and temporary locations can be easily added and managed in VinesOS. ** PLEASE NOTE: There are limitations on shipping. Only one location should have 'shipping' toggled on in the settings. If you would prefer for club orders to be shipped from a unique location, you can toggle on 'club shipping' for that single location; otherwise, all ship-to orders will be fulfilled from the location you have set for 'shipping'. Do not toggle on 'shipping' and/or 'club shipping' for multiple locations.

To add a new location, go to Dashboard > Inventory and click the 'Locations' button in the upper right of the page.

Click the 'New Location' button in the upper right of the page.

Complete the fields on the page:
Title: Add a title for the location. This can be a real physical location or a virtual location, such as a Farmers Market.

IP address: Add your IP address for the location. You can capture that from your user profile at Dashboard > Manage Users or go to https://whatsmyip.com/ and input the IP address shown.

Note: If you are tethering to a mobile device's IP address, your WiFi IP address will change every time you connect to a different hotspot or WiFi access point.

Your default location is listed in the POS sidebar at the bottom. If needed, you can select a different location for the POS order from the dropdown list.

Pickup: Select 'yes' if customers can pick up orders at this location. If 'yes', then this location (i.e., title name) will be displayed as a pickup location option on the e-commerce checkout page and the club sign-up form. Inventory will be pulled from this location for orders picked up from the location with this IP address.

Shipping: Only set this on for one location. If this is toggled on, all orders that are shipped will pull inventory from this location. If club orders ship from a different location, it can be specified below in Cub Shipping.

Club Shipping: Only set this on for one location. If this is toggled on, all shipped club orders will pull inventory from this location. (Club orders for pickup will pull inventory from the location that the member set to pick up from. The Club sign-up page will show the options for the locations where pick-up is toggled on. The inventory will be pulled from that member's specified location.)

Show: If checked, this location will appear available for pickup on the e-commerce checkout page and club sign-up form. However, if you have a temporary location (e.g., a farmer's market), you may not want to show it.

Temporary Locations

If you need to temporarily move inventory from a physical location to a short-term or virtual location, such as for a farmers market, you can create a location to serve that need. The IP address input for the setup of this location would need to be unique, so you would likely tether your iPad to your phone's IP address or use a public Wifi to set this.

Leave the 'Show' box unchecked, as you will most likely not want this temporary location showing as a location available for pickup on the e-commerce checkout page or club sign-up form.

Manage existing locations

Go to Settings > Product Settings and click the 'Locations' button in the upper right of the page. You will see a full list of the existing locations. Click on any one of the locations listed to edit the options within.

Removing a location

If you need to remove a location, place a checkmark in front of the location that you want to remove, then click the 'Delete selected' button. Be careful deleting Locations. You will not be able to report on deleted locations.
