This report will give you a complete, detailed overview of tips and service charges.
Service charges include any automated service charges on event ticket sales.
If your events are taxed, the service charge will be taxed as well.
To pull the 'Tips Report,' navigate to the 'Orders' page.
1. Adjust your filters accordingly (By date, staff member, etc.)
2. Click the 'Submit' button to refresh the page to only show orders with your selected filters
3. On the Export drop-down menu, choose 'Tips Report.'
This will send an email of the file to the email address associated with your login profile.
Once the report is pulled, you will see a breakdown of tips and service charges.
On the top half of the report, you'll be able to see your staff's name, their total order amount (based on your time frame set), their total number of tips collected (based on the orders in that time frame), and the tip percentage (The average tip % selected based on their orders).
Service charges are not included in the Tips amount.
The bottom half of the report will break down all of the orders in your selected time frame. It will break down the orders by date, staff, total, subtotal, tip %, tip amount, order #, customer name, & membership details.
These will also be shown in the Reconciliation Report.
Tips vs. Service Charge
The difference between tips and service charge comes down to who the money belongs to and how it's distributed.
Tips (Gratuities)
Given voluntarily by the customer (Unless auto-added as a gratuity)
Belong to the staff (Servers, bartenders, etc.)
Typically go directly to employees (Sometimes pooled and shared)
Employers generally can't keep tips (With some exceptions)
Service Charges
Mandatory fee added by the business
Belongs to the business, not automatically the staff
The business decides how it's used:
Could be shared with staff
Could cover wages, benefits, or operational costs
Could partially go to employees and partially not
