A futures wine program is basically a way for customers to buy wine before it’s bottled and released.
🍷 What it is
You’re selling a wine while it’s still:
Aging in barrel
Not yet bottled
Not available to the general public
Your customers pay now, and receive the wine later (typically 6–24 months, sometimes longer).

It’s a smart cash-flow tool:
Brings in revenue earlier (before release)
Helps fund production and operations
Builds loyalty with top customers
👉 How to set up Futures
First, reach out to ask us to enable Futures for your account.
On the wine page, set the release date for any Futures wine. This will determine when it becomes available for pickup. It will also show this date under the name on the POS.
After setting the release date, scroll to the bottom to adjust the wine status to "Futures." This will then make it appear on the POS under a new 'Futures' tab.
POS Display
Wines set with a Futures date will appear on the POS in the Futures tab
eCommerce Display
Once the release date is set & the wine status is adjusted to 'Futures,' it will then appear on the shop page under its own product type.
NOTE:
All futures orders will automatically be held for pickup and won't be eligible for pickup until the release date is met.
Futures orders are not eligible for Order modification.
Reporting
Under the 'orders' page, you can view your futures orders by adjusting the Order Type to 'Futures.'
