When pasting text from any external source, please use the Paste from Word icon or Paste as plain text, in the toolbar. To strip out the conflicting code from Word, or where you copied the text from, highlight the text and click the 'remove format' button. Now you can apply your formatting using the VinesOS format toolbar.
If you're still having issues, try pasting your content into a text editor first, such as Notepad (PC) or TextEdit (Mac). Notepad and TextEdit are basic text editors that have no formatting options. This will produce the cleanest content for then pasting your content into VinesOS.
When creating content on VinesOS, make sure the URL/alias is always unique, and never use the same URL/alias twice. Otherwise, this will cause the content to be non-viewable to your customers.
Adding images
To add an image to your page, first place your cursor on the web page where you want to insert your image, then click the image icon in the text editor bottom row:
The Image Properties window will open up. Next, follow these steps:
1. In the Image Properties window, click the Upload tab
2. Click the Choose File button to search your computer and select an image
3. Click the Send it to the Server button
4. In the next screen, scroll down and click the green OK button to add to the page. If you want to adjust the placement and/or white space, etc. around your image, see the Notes at the bottom of this page.
Notes:
To ensure the performance and speed of your website, the images that you insert into your page should have a maximum resolution of 72 DPI, which is standard for the Web.
To improve the amount of white space around your image and between the text, right-click and choose “Image properties”. Set HSpace and VSpace to 10 or a suitable amount of pixels.
Set alignment to Right or Left. Play with it until it looks good. If you want to center an image on the page, place your cursor in front of the image, then click the center button in the editor (see steps below).
Adding Emojis or Emoticons
As mentioned above, the VinesOS text editor strips out the formatting, and styles, and removes images or graphics when you try to paste that content directly into the description area. This is pretty standard for content software, and this pertains to any images (including emojis). The good news is, though it may be a bit more work, you can include your emojis in your content when you upload them as images in the editor. When you do upload an emoji, you may need to then resize it down to say 15x15 pixels using the editor controls and place it in your sentence. Here is an example setup for this below:
