This is an excellent way to sell tasting reservations in advance, and make sure that customers show up for their bookings. Set up your tasting with a fee, and market it that the tasting fee will be credited toward any purchase on site.
Simply open up the RSVP, on the POS. The day's reservations will show in the notifications tab.
Add the items they are ordering, and remove the tasting reservation from the order. On the checkout screen, it will show the prepaid amount. If you remove the tasting reservation, it will deduct that from the total of the purchased items. Or keep it, and it will show the balance due on the order.
And best yet, you can charge the card that was used for the tasting reservation, even if it is a non-member, or a customer without a card on file.
