UserWay integration makes ADA activation easy

ADA Accessible

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that websites provide “reasonable accommodations” for those with disabilities. Various US courts have ruled that commercial websites are places of public accommodation and thus are subject to ADA rules.

Why make your site accessible?

  • It helps protect your business: Accessibility lawsuits increased by 23% in 2022. The average lawsuit is upwards of $40k and is not covered by standard liability insurance.

  • It’s the right thing to do: The Internet should be equally accessible to everyone.

  • It communicates your values: Show your site visitors that you make digital accessibility a priority.

A Tax credit is available for this expense.

VinesOS helps you meet the challenge

Making your website compliant while offering a fully accessible visitor experience is simpler than you think. VinesOS has integrated with UserWay (https://userway.org/) to make compliance easy. With a simple click, you can leverage UserWay automated solutions to expedite the process without sacrificing quality. UserWay is one of the world's most popular AI-powered accessibility solutions that works without impacting your website's existing code.

Please note that this is a free, limited version and it will not protect you from potential lawsuits but it will provide some basic functions.

How to activate UserWay for your website

1. From the sidebar menu, go to your General Settings page at Settings > General Settings, then scroll to the bottom of the page to the UserWay section.

2. Toggle on the 'Enable UserWay ADA Trial' setting, and then click Save.

3. Once you save the setting, on the front end of your website, you will now see a new UserWay ADA compliance icon. This will only install the FREE limited version. Send us a message to request the paid version. The paid version is billed to the card on file with VinesOS at $490 per year. The paid version includes the UserWay legal counsel if you are faced with a lawsuit.

4. This icon can be clicked by site visitors to open the UserWay website controls menu, where they can fully customize and adjust the ADA-specific content presentation settings.
