How to transfer member credit card tokens to VinesOS

Updated over a week ago

Token Transfer to Stripe for New Clients

Credit card data can take a month or longer to transfer from your existing account over to Stripe for use on VinesOS. Much of it depends on how long your current platform takes to do the transfer.

1. Initiate the request with your current platform

Reach out to your current platform and let them know that you would like to initiate the transfer of member credit card data to Stripe. They will need to be aware and willing to cooperate with the export of credit card data or tokens in a secure way. This will be handled between Stripe and their processor. Please copy migrations@vinesos.com on the email. Be sure to include in your email:

  1. Request them to initiate a token migration to Stripe to the VinesOS Platform account:
    โ€‹
    destination_account: acct_1L5cosDj3UJgmK8z

    destination_account_name: 'VinesOS Platform"
    โ€‹

  2. Let them know you will need to export member non-sensitive data (club, address, DOB, etc) and also the alias that maps the member to the credit card data.

  3. Ask how long the process takes them to complete the token transfer to Stripe and to export your member data.

  4. Confirm that you are not yet closing your account but just need to start the export of card data. Let them know you still want to be processing and using that data after it's been exported to Stripe.

2. Initiate the request with VinesOS

If you have members' credit card tokens already on file with another processor and you need to transfer them, please open a new chat ticket, or email support@vinesos.com to initiate the process. We will need to know:
1. The Platform the credit cards are coming over from (ie WineDirect, Orderport, Commerce7, etc.)

2. The Merchant Processor, if it is separate (ie, WorldPay, OpenEdge, Heartland)

3. The approximate number of credit cards:

VinesOS will initiate the transfer request with Stripe, and we will advise you on the next steps, depending on where your card data is coming from.

Prepare the member data, including the token alias

Update the member data with the existing 'alias' of your current provider

Every member card on file will be represented with an 'alias' with your current provider. Ask them for an export of the member data so you can put it into the member spreadsheet for VinesOS. Ask specifically for the alias, or what represents the credit card token, with the current credit card processor. You will upload that with the database of members. The current card processor will send that alias and the actual credit card to Stripe in a secure vault, and ultimately, that alias is what will tie back the card number to the member records that you upload. See the Member import task.
