Build table layouts by location and room, then start POS orders for selected tables. Use this for patios, lounges, bar seats, tasting rooms, or any other service area where you want staff to quickly see and manage active table orders. With POS table seating, you can:
Create rooms and tables by location
Select a table to start a POS order
Add guest count and order notes
View active table orders
Reopen an assigned table order from the seating view
See the assigned table directly on the POS order
Set up your Tables
First, ask VinesOS to enable Tables for your account. There is no charge for this.
Then, to create and manage your tables, go to POS > Tables.
Select your Location from the dropdown.
Create a Room from the drop down menu, or if one exists already, select the Room where you want to add a table.
Click the Add Table button to add a table for the specified Room. You can also click on an existing table to edit the title.
Assigning a table to an order
When you log into the POS, select the first step now is to select the Location and the Room where you want to seat your guests, then select an available table.
You can view existing assigned tables and click to open them on the POS.
You can assign a new table to an order by clicking it. Then, enter identifiers/notes, and the number of Guests. Click the Start button to open the POS order screen.
On the POS order screen, the table will display on the order.
When you hold the order, the order will remain in the Open orders tab, showing the Table number.
Creating a To Go Order
To create a To Go order, use the Order To Go button to quickly access the main POS menu, without assigning the order to a Table.
It will give you access to the POS with your menu items.
Opening a Closed Table Order
If you open a previously closed table order, the order will open and be handled as if it is a To Go order, so it does not interfere with a newer, more recent table order that is now open or held.
Releasing a Table for a 'Stuck' Order
If you have an order that is stuck or needs attention and you can not close it, open the order on the POS and hit the Release Table button. This will free up the table. The order will now be saved as a To Go / Held order so it can be addressed later, and the table can be reassigned.
