How a member can cancel their membership online through their account page

Updated over a week ago

A winery can opt-in to allow members to cancel. Once this option is enabled, if a member wants to cancel, they can do so through their account page. This cancellation option is consistent with CA law and is intended to help ensure compliance.

On the My Account page, a member can click the 'Cancel Membership' button.

On the next page, members are prompted to input a reason for canceling. An optional checkbox is available if the member wants someone to reach out for follow-up.

Once the cancellation is submitted, the member is effectively canceled, and they immediately see an in-page confirmation and are sent an email with their cancellation details. The club manager is simultaneously notified by email of the member's cancellation, which includes all details including whether the member has requested a follow-up.

The customer record will include a date and time stamp for the cancellation, as well as how it was fulfilled (i.e., by the member or by staff).

Enable online cancellation

To include this option in the member account page, go to Settings > General Settings and search for the option, 'Enable online cancellation'. Toggle on the setting and then save the page.

Prevent members from changing their club level

Do you ever have a situation where a member joins your highest level club to get the best discount on your wine, and before the next release, they log in and downgrade to the minimum level club?

To enable this, go to Settings > Settings and scroll to the Wine Club section. Toggle on the option 'Disable member login club change'.
